Hey, guys, I may need some serious help from all of you. Those of you who haven't read my latest journal entry, go back in time to when we went to Chevy's for dinner after the guild meeting. Does ANYONE remember the total bill? Does anyone else remember that I paid my portion with my card? Does anyone remember that I was paying $15 on my card, and everyone else paid cash?
Did anyone else see my receipt? If anyone did, it was likely Dani as she was sitting right next to me.. Did anyone take a receipt with them? Does anyone remember if I took mine for my card transaction, or did I leave it?
I'm asking all of these odd questions because I just found out that my account was debited $103.05 from Chevy's, when it should have been debited only $15. I think we may have a serious problem at hand here. What if our waiter charged it all to my card and took the rest of the money for himself, guys?
Do you all remember how much you paid for yourselves? All of this information, all of these details and more will help me resolve this issue. I already filed a claim with my bank on it, but it will take them 10 business days to resolve it, IF they can do it on their own, and IF they don't need any further information that I can't provide them. That's why I need as much info as you all can muster up. Please think hard on it. If this guy did take all the money for himself, I want his ass fired and reported to whatever PD or bureau handles thieving employees. I'm sick of being walked on by others, and I will see this resolved, but I need all of your help..
More than enough! I think we all ended up adding a couple of dollars towards the tip. My bill was like $13-something, and so I paid $15 along with most everyone else forking over an extra dollar or two for the tip. He got quite a fair share..
Okay, that's $60 so far, and Dani put in like $10, so a possible $70. Melanie probably about $20 as well. Possible $90. Mine was $15. So counting that someone (maybe Melanie) didn't put in an even amount (such as $20 flat), that does equal up to about $103.
So we can assume that the bill amount was at least probably correct, but what happened to all that cash you guys put in the tab..? I hope the manager calls me back today. >.
erf, didn't see the earlier comment addressing the tip thing beforehand.
i'm suprised the tip wasn't included in the bill honestly. It usually is for larger parties. I'd ask the manager to fax you a copy of the original check. They have it and since they have your credit card reciept with the info on it it should be easy to pull from the computer.
No, none at all. He had plenty of tip money, so he either made some asshat mistake, or was an evil little fucker and thought he could get away with stealing a hell of a lot of money from work. Think about it. My card only covered $15--my portion and a tip. All the rest of the $103.05 was paid in cash.
You guys are just as much the victims here as I am. That's a lot of money he might have taken for his own, if that's the case..
we're not left short on our credit card though.
I've seen servers pull some hinky stuff to make extra money. I wouldn't be too shocked if he did decide to make it an extra profitable night. Maybe it was his last night there or something and he was gonna get all he could.
One has to wonder.. If not, though, I hope the guy gets fired. Even if it was an accident, that's a HUGE mistake. That's not, "oops, I accidentally added 10 cents to your total," you know? Either he needs to be re-trained, or fired.
And if it was deliberate, I hope karma kicks him in the ass.
